The DEBIT MASTERCARD card is an EMV Chip and PIN card that is linked to a naira current or saving account. It is accepted worldwide for payment at over 24 million locations and for cash withdrawals at over 1.8 million ATMs in over 170 countries worldwide, wherever the MasterCard logo is displayed. The card is available in three variants; Classic, Gold and Platinum.

Q: HOW DOES MY MASTERCARD DEBIT CARD WORK?

The Debit MasterCard is linked to cardholder’s current or saving account. Every transaction done

with your Debit MasterCard will reflect online real time in your bank account. Cardholders can monitor their transactions by simply viewing their account statement.

Q: HOW DO I APPLY FOR A DEBIT MASTERCARD?

It's easy to get a Debit MasterCard– simply operate an individual Savings or Current account with

FCMB and apply  for  a  Debit  MasterCard.  Once you have completed and signed a Debit Card application form, a Debit MasterCard will be issued within 7-5 business days.

Q: HOW DO I ACTIVATE MY DEBIT MASTERCARD AFTER COLLECTION?

Your Debit MasterCard can be activated immediately using the in-branch POS terminal. Please see

the Customer Service Manager at any branch to activate your card.

Q: WHERE CAN I USE M Y DEBIT MASTERCARD?

The  Debit  MasterCard  can  be  used  on  ATMs,  POS  machines  and  the  internet.  Your card is

internationally accepted as a means of payment at over 24 million merchant locations and over 1

million ATMs worldwide, in over 170 countries.

Q: HOW DO I MAKE ONL INE TRANSACTIONS?

All online transactions require your card number and the 3digits CVV (Card Verification Value)

number at   the   back   of   your   card.   Some local transactions may require input of a One Time

Password (OTP) while international transactions require Secure Code

Q: WHAT IS SECURE CODE AND HOW DO I REGISTER FOR IT?

This is a security solution available on MasterCard products. It provides second level authentication for     cardholder when performing online transactions. The cardholders are expected to register their secure code by registration on manual URL platform or register during shopping on a participating merchant site

Q: WHAT IS ONE TIME PASSWORD ( OTP)?

One-Time  Password  (OTP)  is  a  code  securely  generated  and  sent  to  confirm  your  online

transactions on Interswitch platform.

                                                                                    

Q: HOW DO I RECEIVE MY OTP?

The One-Time Password is sent automatically via SMS  to  your  phone number  registered  with

FCMB.     If  you  do  not  receive  the  OTP,  please  call  our  24  hour  Contact  Centre  number  on

01-2798800.

                               

Q: DO I RECEIVE OTP FOR EVERY WEB TRANSACTIONS?

No. You only get OTP for some local transactions

Q: WHAT DO I DO IF I DON’T RECEIV E OTP ON MY PHONE?

If you do not receive the OTP, please send a mail to  customerservice@fcmb.com or call

FCMB 24 Hour Contact Centre on 01-2798800 or (07003290000).

Q: HOW DO I WITHDRAW C ASH AT AN ATM WITH MY DEBIT MASTERCARD?

To withdraw cash at the ATM, insert your card into the machine and enter your PIN. Select the type of account the card is linked to make a withdrawal and enter the amount of cash you want to

withdraw. Then take your cash, card, and receipt to keep track of your balance.

Q: HOW DO I KNOW THE BA LANCE ON MY MASTERCARD DEBIT CARD?

You can check the card balance on any ATM terminal that accepts your card variance or by viewing

your account details online.

Q: HOW LONG CAN I USE M Y DEBIT MASTERCARD?

You can make purchases using your Debit MasterCard until the expiration date shown on the card,

or until the value of the card has been depleted. Once your Debit MasterCard expires, you can request from the nearest FCMB branch for a new card

Q: WHAT DO I DO IF M Y CARD IS LOST OR ST OLEN?

Call FCMB 24 Hour Contact Centre on 01-2798800 or (07003290000)  and request that the card be hot listed immediately. You will be asked a few questions to show that you are the actual owner of the card or visit the nearest FCMB branch to report.
