FCMB’s Employee Health Week Promotes healthy lifestyles for employees

Lagos: February 10, 2017: First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited has again demonstrated its ‘great place to work’ philosophy by organising a series of activities to mark the 2017 edition of its Employee Health Week. The annual programme, which is primarily aimed at promoting healthy living for employees of the Bank and their families, will hold from February 13 to 17. The employee health week is aimed to encourage and support employees to adopt healthy lifestyles, by promoting sustainable behaviour changes that help people thrive at work and across all aspects of life.

 

In a statement, FCMB announced that during the week, its employees will participate in various physical and mental health and wellness activities. These include free medical checks in Bank branches across the country, health and wellness education classes in all branches, education on good nutrition, sharing of healthy recipes, counselling for stress management, and physical activity competitions. The health week will end on Friday, with a ‘workplace workout’ with aerobics session at various branches.

 

Speaking on the significance of the Employee Health Week, the Vice President, and Divisional Head, Corporate Services of FCMB, Felicia Obozuwa, restated the commitment of the Bank to initiate and execute programmes that promote healthy living for employees. According to her, ‘’employee health and general well-being are key priorities for us. We want our workforce to be healthy and happy and to know that we are concerned about their wellbeing. It is our mission to provide the tools, knowledge and opportunities our employees need to stay healthy or improve their health. The first step is making sure we have an integrated wellness culture, that’s why we introduced our employee health week initiative’’.
